2015 new home standards are closely related to you

In 2015, the home furnishings industry is set to see a significant shift with the introduction of new national standards. One of the most notable changes involves the formaldehyde emission regulations for interior decoration materials, particularly wood-based panels and their products. Since 2002, the previous standard has been replaced by a new one that is now in the final approval stage and will become mandatory. A key focus of the updated standard is the testing method, which sets specific limits on formaldehyde emissions depending on the type of product. It categorizes furniture into two grades: E1 and E2. E1-grade materials are safe for direct indoor use, while E2 requires additional treatment before being used in homes. Another important update is the new national standard for "Ceramic Sheet Sealing Spout," which came into effect on December 1, 2014. This regulation imposes stricter limits on metal contaminants like lead, antimony, and arsenic released from faucets. It also introduces enhanced water-saving features and improves the performance of shower heads and hand showers. Additionally, it increases the adhesion strength of plastic coatings and updates corrosion resistance requirements. For many years, one of the biggest challenges in furniture environmental protection has been how to test for harmful substances without damaging or dismantling the product. Many consumers are concerned about potential issues but hesitate to proceed due to the difficulty of proving problems after removal and the risk of not receiving compensation. Currently, the "dryer" method is commonly used for environmental testing, where furniture is cut into small pieces for analysis. However, the proposed climate chamber method offers a more realistic approach. Instead of breaking down the furniture, this method places the entire piece in a controlled environment that simulates real-life conditions. By measuring air quality inside the chamber, the results are more accurate and reliable. This approach is also less destructive and cost-effective for consumers, as it tests the whole item rather than just a sample. These improvements aim to provide better protection for consumers and ensure higher quality and safety standards across the furniture industry.
