What to do if spot color ink has a color cast

The preparation of spot color inks includes the preparation of light-colored inks and the preparation of dark-colored inks. All the inks prepared by adding the diluent to the original ink are light-colored inks. When mixing, the diluent is mainly used, and the primary color ink is supplemented. At this time, we must pay attention to the following aspects:

(1) Select the appropriate diluent according to the color sample;

(2) According to the chromatogram and the original sample, determine the ratio between the original ink and the diluent;

(3) Add the selected primary color inks in order from light to dark;

(4) Add ink in order from the largest to the smallest according to the proportion of blending;

(5) After the preparation is even, use a spatula to scrape the small color sample and compare it with the original sample, or open the ink on the paper, that is, dip the ink with the same volume as the mung bean and place it on the paper, and then another paper cover Compare the ink on top;

(6) Try not to use inks of different colors as much as possible, otherwise the gloss of the prepared ink will decrease and the ink color will be dark;

(7) The paper used for the sample is preferably the same as the printing paper, and the color draft and the sample must be observed under the same standard light source.

When mixing dark ink, the method is basically the same as that of light ink, but it should be noted that:

(1) Main ink is the main ink, supplemented by other inks. When mixing, first analyze the light and dark relationship between the primary color ink and the secondary color ink, then weigh the ink, place the primary color ink on the ink table, slowly add the secondary color ink and stir evenly, and then observe the difference from the original color sample by comparison Until it matches.

(2) Use inks with colors close to those required for blending. According to the principle of subtractive color, the mixed color will become dull. The more the number of primary color inks, the darker the color, and the lower the brightness and vividness of the color. Therefore, when distributing inks, you must choose color inks that are similar to the color requirements to avoid the deployment of multiple color inks. For example, dark brown is generally blended with red ink and yellow ink with slightly black ink.

(3) Pay attention to the color shift of the ink. Ink usually has a slight color cast, such as reddish, blued, yellowish, etc. When distributing ink, it is necessary to control the color cast of each color ink.
