Flirtey will use the 3D printing drone for the first ship-to-shore transport test

According to reports, Flirtey, a New Jersey-based 3D printing drone delivery service provider, will use a drone for the first time in the United States to complete the ship-to-shore delivery of medical supplies. This on-site demonstration (or testing) will fully demonstrate the huge potential of UAVs in humanitarian and disaster assistance. Flirtey claims that small, highly mobile drones will be an ideal solution for transporting medical supplies and other supplies to areas where ground vehicles are difficult to access.

It is understood that during the event, Flirtey will join Timothy Amukele, assistant professor of pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and the Field Innovation Team (FIT), as well as representatives from the UN Office of Humanitarian Assistance Coordination (UNOCHA). It will also be on site to observe the first drone ship shore capacity test conducted by Flirtey. It is worth mentioning that this drone ship shore delivery test is also part of FIT's latest DRONES IN DISASTER “DO TANK” campaign, the main purpose of which is to bring together experts and expertise in various fields to try in a collaborative manner. Develop solutions for various humanitarian disaster scenarios.

“Imagine that in the future natural disaster like Hurricane Sandy, Flirtey's drones can quickly provide emergency medical supplies, food and water. This demonstration is to realize such an idea that we can further approach Flirtey rescue. Life and lifestyle change vision," said Flirety CEO Matt Sweeny.

According to the plan, the show will begin on June 23, 2016, on a ship moored on the coastline of New Jersey, when Flirtey's drone will carry medical samples to an onshore medical rescue camp near Cape May. Dr. Amukele has previously conducted several successful tests on medical drones carrying blood samples and blood products, so he will be a volunteer consultant for Flirtey at the event. For professional disaster relief organizations, the rapid delivery of medical supplies and supplies through drones will greatly enhance their productivity and disaster relief capabilities, especially in areas where ground transportation facilities are severely damaged by disasters.

Flirtey is the first company to have a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ship medical supplies through drones in the United States, and they have also used drones to transport medical supplies to a private home for the first time in the United States.
