Recently, Dinghai Guanghua Hospital introduced 3D printing technology for the treatment of patients with bone injuries, which is the first in the city! In the past, such complicated operations can only be diagnosed by doctors through CT and other two-dimensional images, and then the damaged parts and conditions. The surgeon needs to have solid anatomical knowledge, strong spatial imagination, rich clinical experience and perfect preoperative design. Even with the above conditions, patient individualized differences can lead to increased difficulty in surgery and increased operating time.

Considering the multiple comminuted fractures of Mr. Dong's ankle, the operation is difficult and the operation time is long. After communicating with the patient's family, the attending physician Zhou Chao broke through the conventional thinking and proposed using 3D printing technology to assist in surgical treatment. That is, the patient's damaged part is scanned by high-resolution CT, and then the data is transmitted to the computer for processing, connected to a dedicated 3D printer , and printed into a 1:1 simulation model.

According to Zhou Chao, in this high-simulation model made of corn starch, Mr. Dong’s several fractures are clear at a glance. The doctor designed the surgical plan accordingly, made a support plate that is more conformable to the bone, and pre-operatively on the model. Perform the simulation.
