Determination of potassium ion concentration in compound fertilizer with 859 temperature titrator

Potassium is one of the important components of fertilizers. Potassium in plants is an activator of enzymes, which can promote photosynthesis, sugar metabolism, fat metabolism and protein synthesis. The detection of potassium in compound fertilizer can effectively control the quality of compound fertilizer products. In this study, a suitable pretreatment method was selected and the temperature titration method was used to quantitatively study the potassium ion in the compound fertilizer. The determination of potassium ions in the compound fertilizer is based on the precipitation reaction between sodium tetraphenylborate and potassium ions. Since the reaction is exothermic, when the titration reaches the equivalent point, the temperature change rate of the reaction chamber is the largest, indicating the end . This method has the advantages of easy operation, fast speed and high sensitivity, and is very suitable for monitoring the potassium ion content of compound fertilizer. The results show that the content of potassium ions in the compound fertilizer measured by temperature titration, ion chromatography and potassium tetraphenylborate gravimetric method is consistent. This method has high accuracy, good reproducibility, and recovery rate of up to 97%.
