The team at Kite’s South Coast Regional Distribution Centre in Portsmouth recently made a generous £1,000 donation to the charity Children with Cancer UK. This act of kindness highlights the strong community spirit and commitment to making a real difference in the lives of young people battling cancer.

Children with Cancer UK is a leading charity dedicated to supporting children and young people affected by cancer. Their work includes funding vital research, raising awareness, and providing support to families across the UK. The charity's mission is to improve survival rates, enhance the quality of life for patients, and ultimately prevent cancer in future generations.

Neil Hopkins, Managing Partner at Kite Portsmouth, shared his thoughts on the donation: “We are proud to support such an important cause. Children with Cancer UK does incredible work, and it's inspiring to see our team come together to help make a lasting impact.”

The charity was founded in 1987 by Eddie and Marion O’Gorman after they lost their two children, Paul and Jean, to cancer. Just months after losing their son Paul to leukaemia, the family began fundraising in his memory. Tragically, less than a year later, their daughter Jean also passed away from the same disease.

In November 1987, just days after Jean’s death, Eddie and Marion met Princess Diana, who was deeply moved by their story. She played a key role in helping them establish the charity, which has since grown into one of the most respected organizations supporting children with cancer.
