100,000 milk boxes "transformed" trash

It is understood that it consists of nearly 100,000 waste milk cartons and other beverage packaging papers, which have become “waste and treasure” after high-tech processing.

Today, these garbage bins, which have been transformed into milk containers, have attracted a great deal of interest from foreign environmental protection experts and visitors. Yesterday, a British production company specializing in filming environmental protection documentary made a special trip to Shanghai to make a “carton box” into a special feature film and prepare to promote this China's environmental protection patented product globally.

Disposal box made 4000 trash cans

Milk, coffee, soy milk... More and more drinks use “soft packaging”. The real name is “composite paper packaging” and is made of 75% pulp, 20% plastic, and 5% aluminum. At the same time, because the food industry has extremely high demands on the manufacturing process, the pulp, plastic, and aluminum in these packagings must have extremely high quality. Therefore, when it is thrown into the trash as garbage, it is actually misplaced.

"Recycling of resources, these Tetra Pak packaging bear the brunt." According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Waste Management Office, since the city implemented garbage classification, a lot of renewable resources have been centralized recovery. In order to maximize the use of "waste" resources like ordinary milk boxes, the city started a green account activity in March last year. As of April, a total of 1,716 tons was recovered. The calculation of 10,000 empty milk boxes with a capacity of 250 milliliters means that more than 170 million milk boxes have been recovered.

According to reports, the 1,000 benches currently in the Expo site are completely packed in milk cartons. Each one-meter-long bench consumes 856 250 ml milk beverage paper packaging; more than 4,000 "upon-use waste change treasures" in the park. The trash can also be made of at least 100,000 milk boxes.

Milk cartons are more popular than wood

“This kind of material can replace almost any wooden product. The person in charge of the company said: In recent years, milk cartons have made products more popular than wood. “The recycling prospects of these Tetra packaging are very good,” said the person in charge of the Municipal Waste Management Office. The trash cans widely used in the Expo Park have more novel shapes, clearer logos, and a longer life than traditional trash cans, which are in line with the “green, low-carbon” concept advocated by the Expo.

At present, the new process has obtained national patents and has also won the favor of foreign counterparts. Not long ago, an Indian friend was very interested in environmental protection trash cans in the terminal building while passing through the Beijing Capital International Airport. He said that he wanted to introduce such a trash can when a new terminal building in India was completed. It is reported that in addition to the trash can, this material has many extensions in the product, such as desks, chairs, trays and so on.
