Offset printing is the main production method for creating this colorful packaging world, and in which fine-format large-format printing has made gratifying development in recent years. Take our company as an example, the output value of large format printed matter is increasing at a rate of about 20% every year. Throughout these products, the following categories can be roughly classified:
1. Synthesize one large packing box from several small packages;
2. Large-format posters and promotional items used in advertising;

Among them, the outer packaging of the product has experienced a process of change from simple to complex, from rough to exquisite and practical. In the past, jacks sold in stores, pots for boiling water for cooking rice, liquefied gas cookers, and some products with a certain weight or volume were not packaged in wooden racks. To a large extent, they were merely for convenience of transportation. The characteristics of the packaged products are introduced, and instructions for use are even less mentionable to beautify and promote products.
With the increase in consumer demand for these products, manufacturers have to make adjustments to the product packaging. The result of this adjustment will provide a new living space for large format printing at the start-up stage.
Although large-format prints have a place in the market, they are not yet fully mature in terms of process technology.
mainly reflects in:
1. The output of large-format film is still stuck at the level of splicing with small-format films. This lacks the concept of full-length film and is easy to make mistakes. This method of production is not proper from the beginning of plate making, and has always affected the output of the PS version. .
2. The problem of proofing has not yet been solved. As far as I know, there is no large-format proofing machine in China. How to solve the problem of large-format printing proofing? Or the old method, using a small format film to print PS version of the proofing, and then these small-format proofing sample splicing into a large-format proofs. There are obvious problems with this approach. One is waste of media and the other is time-consuming. Another method to solve the proofing is to sign the sample on the machine, that is, the customer directly enters the workshop to make a request. After the satisfaction is satisfied, the guest can sign up to become a ladder. There is a problem of communication and communication here, and in actual operation, this often becomes a hidden danger of controversy. At the same time, customers enter the shop and get into trouble for the management of the factory. Therefore, the proofing is always not properly resolved.
3, large format generally refers to more than 1260MM width. At present, there are only a few famous companies that can manufacture large-format offset presses in the world: Bao, Mann Rolland, Mitsubishi, etc. In 1993, our company introduced the KBA VARIMAT126 offset press and equipped with BOBST SP126-BMA die. Cutting and hot stamping machines can not only produce exquisite large-format printing products but also can be matched with post-processing, including: coating, pressing, laminating, laminating, gluing and so on.
I believe that offset printing will occupy an important position in the large-format print market at a low cost (relative to gravure printing) with high efficiency (as opposed to inkjet printing and screen printing).
