Korean mountain environment

Judging from the shoes that we can reach in our country, the Korean hiking shoes are mainly based on the Mountain Shoe, and most of them are Trekking Shoe. This is because:

Such geographical conditions are not surprising as to why the Korean brand of outdoor shoes is mostly based on walking shoes. Next, we combine the geographical conditions of South Korea to see the characteristics of Korean shoes.

The mountains in South Korea are mostly rocky and fluctuating. Many outdoor activities need to go or climb all kinds of rock routes. In addition, Korea is rich in water resources, and there are many streams in the mountains (they are similar to the black dragon's dense environment from the photos they find). It is required that the corresponding footwear products must have flexible and non-slip properties. Judging from the structure of the big bottom, the outsole of South Korea's shoes is relatively soft, and the materials used on the soles are not as large as those of European and American products. Vibram soles are widely used. Instead, it uses relatively soft and gripped soles such as CLINGER, GET-GRIP, or their own R&D. This is totally different from the thick and solid style of our common European and American V-soles. If you carefully look at the patterns of the shoes on Korean shoes, you can find that they are mostly large shadings and granules, and some of the granules are also specially designed as sucker styles, which are inseparable from the non-slip performance of Korean shoes that emphasizes soles.

Secondly, Korean shoes are basically medium and low-end designs. From the appearance point of view, shoes appear to be very lightweight and affixed to the feet. It is totally different from the appearance of the heavy hiking shoes that we normally come into contact with, which is also determined by taking full account of the use environment. South Korea is mountainous, mostly rocky, and climbing and trekking activities often encounter terrain that requires rock climbing. Therefore, it is not suitable to use heavy equipment. Although the heavy-duty shoes have good waterproof, shock-absorbing and protective properties, these advantages on the above terrain become a burden to users. Especially during climbing, the feet need to keep moving. Therefore, the upper cannot be made too high to facilitate the movement of the ankle. However, the low-profile structure of Korean shoes is not simply to reduce the height of the upper, and the reduced part of the mouth can precisely support the protruding part of the lower part of the ankle, tightly and softly supporting the feet, and protecting the feet from sprains. At the same time, South Korea’s outdoor activities are mainly one-day light-loading activities, and there are not many similar camps on the two days in China. Moreover, South Korea does not have a very good outdoor activity like long-distance (more than 3 days) hiking in the southwest and northwest regions of China. It does not have too high performance requirements for shoes. In my opinion, this is the main reason why Korean shoes are generally low.

Then, from the shoe surface: South Korea's shoes are mostly made of leather, with a variety of colors and strong colors. It is different from the traditional monochrome monolithic structure in European outdoor bases. Since most of the outdoor activities are mainly one-day, there is no need to over-emphasize the water resistance of the shoes (the rain runs back home too much). Therefore, Korean shoes do not emphasize too much waterproof performance on fabrics. The use of GTX fabrics is relatively loose. GTX only occupies a certain proportion in the products, unlike the domestic understanding of shoes --- not wearing GTX. Shoes, you are embarrassed to greet others (joke)! Of course, not using GTX does not mean that the shoes are not waterproof. At least the shoes I have seen are at least WATERPROOF. Interestingly, Korean shoes are basically Baotou design, which is what we often say anti-kick function. In addition to the real blackyak-city, all the Korean shoes that I came in contact with are covered with protective materials such as rubber. I started to find it interesting, but I learned later that the opportunity to climb a rock in South Korea's outdoor activities has many opportunities. The front of the foot often needs to step on the rocks, and the toes are inserted into the cracks. If the shoe does not have a good baotou protection, the upper will quickly wear out. Therefore, the heavy use of Baotou is another phenomenon due to its design.

Finally, talk about the overall work. The level of light industry manufacturing in Korea is relatively high, and many of the well-known outdoor brands in the world are OEMs in Korea. This shows the level of manufacturing of Korean outdoor products from the side. From the point of view of shoes alone, although Korean shoes have a certain gap between the high-end products such as heavy-duty walking shoes and local products in Europe and America, they are already very good for light products. At least from the products I came in contact with, the work is very meticulous and serious. In terms of product services, the after-sales services of most of the products that are officially listed in China are also very comprehensive and can give buyers sufficient protection.

To sum up, from my personal point of view, Korean shoes have strong strength in light walking shoes and can give consumers a wide range of choices. In fact, its products are ideally suited for day-to-day outdoor activities, especially on wet rocky terrain. For example, the Beijing "Xiang Ba La" or the "Black Dragon Diablo" type activities. Shoes are lightweight, good grip, very suitable for the elderly to wear; and stylish, colorful, usually can wear to work in the city, can be used as a good choice for girls shoes library. Its inadequacies are: products based on lightweight walking shoes are not suitable for expeditionary hiking shoes because of their design limitations. Stronger grips are relatively soft and wear faster; the most important is price. Is an imported product, the price includes other costs. Therefore, there is no sufficient price gap with the big brands in Europe and the United States. However, over time, I believe that more and more Korean shoes will be transferred to Chinese production, and their prices will fall in line with it.
