On the afternoon of the 15th, a tea ceremony was held to celebrate the launch of the "Affinity for Tibetan Tea · Painting Dreams" Tibetan Tea Product Packaging Design Contest. This event was jointly organized by Ya'an Cailong Tea Factory, a member company of the Ya'an South Road Side Tea Chamber, and Sichuan Agricultural University. Twelve teams participated in the competition, presenting and defending their designs live. Ultimately, six outstanding works were awarded, showcasing creativity and cultural insight.
To ensure the integrity of the competition, a panel of judges was formed, including Wang Bo, Chairman of the Ya'an South Road Side Tea Chamber; Secretary-General Huang Chunyu; Ming Yulan; General Manager of Cailong Tea Plant, Liang Jianping; Director Zhang Deren; and Qi Guinian, a professor from Sichuan Agricultural University's Tea Academy. Additionally, Wen Dong Mei, deputy director of the Wenxin New Media Bureau, and professional planners such as Li Wei joined as judges. A total of 10 public judges were randomly selected on-site, ensuring transparency and fairness. The judges evaluated both the live presentations and the contestants' responses to questions, making the selection process comprehensive and rigorous.
The winning entry, titled "Hou De Ren Ai," stood out for its deep integration of cultural elements and brand identity. According to Huang Chunxi, one of the organizers, the collaboration between schools and enterprises required participants to fully understand the unique characteristics of Tibetan tea products while incorporating cultural and brand-specific elements. This not only helped students gain a deeper appreciation of Ya'an’s rich tea heritage but also provided companies with fresh perspectives, especially in product packaging design.
Through this contest, enterprises were able to gather innovative ideas that could inspire future packaging designs, making them more culturally relevant and aligned with market demands. The event served as a valuable platform for both students and industry professionals, fostering creativity and promoting the unique charm of Tibetan tea culture. It also highlighted the importance of blending tradition with modern design to create visually appealing and meaningful packaging solutions.
