Print color reproduction
The color printing of offset printing adopts the principle of subtractive color method of color materials for color matching to complete color reproduction. In general, if the substrate is white paper, there are eight colors on the surface during color reproduction.

1. White (W): It is the true color of the paper. After the visible light is incident on the paper surface, it is almost completely reflected to form white. (Figure 1-3 / a)
2. Yellow (Y): After visible light is incident on the yellow ink layer, the ink layer absorbs blue-violet light and reflects red and green light, that is, R + G = Y makes the human eye see yellow (Figure 1-3 / b)
3. Magenta (M): After visible light enters the magenta ink layer, the ink layer absorbs green light and reflects blue-violet light, that is, B + R = M makes the human eye see magenta (M). Figure 1-3 / c )
4. Cyan (C): After visible light is incident on the cyan ink layer, the ink layer absorbs red light and reflects blue-violet and green light, that is, B + G = C makes the human eye see cyan. Figure 1-3 / d
5. Red (R): After visible light is incident on the ink layer of yellow and magenta, the yellow and magenta ink layers absorb blue-violet light and green light, respectively, and only reflect the red light, so that the human eye sees red. Figure 1-3 / e
6. Green (G): After visible light enters the yellow and cyan color stack, the yellow and cyan ink layers absorb blue-violet light and red light, respectively, and only reflect green light. Make the human eye see the green picture 1-3 / f
7. Blue-violet (B): After visible light is incident on the magenta and cyan ink layers, the magenta and cyan ink layers absorb green and red light, respectively, and reflect the blue-violet light, so that the human eye sees blue-violet. Figure 1-3 / g
8. Black (BK): When visible light enters the ink layer of yellow, magenta, and cyan, it is almost completely absorbed, so that the human eye sees black. Figure 1-3 / h
[Hint]: Usually in color science, black is represented by the English letter K.
The eight colors W, Y, M, C, R, G, B, and K formed above are typical color material subtractive color process, that is, with the increase of ink superposition, the reflected light energy continues to decrease. Therefore, the colors presented are getting darker and darker. For the operators of offset printing technology, it is necessary to master the eight colors of the printed matter. However, to make the printed matter show more colors, it depends on the color of the dots.
