Also, inspect the entire site carefully for signs of rutting, such as uneven elastic surfaces or transverse cracks in the direction of the roller’s movement. Any problematic areas should be addressed immediately by completely removing the affected material and replacing it with fresh mix.
When working in sections, leave a 30–50 cm area at the joint unrolled. When the next section is laid, the un-compacted area will be planed, mixed with the old material, and slightly moistened. After smoothing, roll the entire area with the compactor. Once rolling is complete, check for any unevenness and trim again if needed.
