The benefits of multi-color, in addition to being visually more aesthetically pleasing, include the ability to obtain more information about the nature of the seabed. Different colors to distinguish sonar intensity. Alternatively, the color can be set to correspond to the depth. Display different fields of view or different types of information in contrast colors, allowing the navigator to absorb information faster.
The simple digital sounder displays historical data, which may show a depth of water before 10 to 15 seconds, which means that the depth sounder will show the bottom after the ship has sailed 100 meters. The 2D sounder indicates the average water depth in the fan-shaped area in front of the vessel, which more accurately reflects the underwater condition of the vessel.

Standard or professional sensor?
If you choose EchoPit 2D, then the rest is to choose a suitable sensor. Our professional sensors are equipped with 2" BSP copper fittings running through the hull and 3" usable wire, making them ideal for larger vessels. Standard sensors are available with 1" available wire, and most flat-bottom GRP vessels use standard sensors.
If the hull is thick, or if the hull's bottom is too steep, you need to use wedges or spacers to keep the sensor vertical. Professional sensors will be your best choice.
