Muller Dairy UK introduced a yogurt product called Corner Squeezers in a two-compartment packaging, with 48 grams of yogurt occupying one of the rooms and 16 grams of fruit or cereal occupying another room. This one-piece package, which is 182 mm wide, is produced at a rate of about 200 bags per minute and uses a scribing laser coder to complete the coding task. British agent Engelmann & Buckham pointed out that this package provides an alternative to the double-cavity thermoformed cans and is less costly and can be drunk after tearing off the sealing strip.
This new type of packaging equipment uses a four-line vertical SVL 20/30 forming-filling-sealing machine developed by the German manufacturer Hassia. This new molding-filling-sealing machine adopts aseptic operation, effectively extending the product shelf life. The machine is equipped with a new shaped shoulder in order to obtain an asymmetrical double room style.
The product adopts cold filling technology, so no cooling furnace is required. A CIP/SIP system is monitored by the machine's computer control system. The control system also records and monitors all system parameters in the production process. .
