Sheet-fed offset printing machine post-press inline processing device

1. On-line cutting device

In the case of small printing volume and thin paper, in order to improve efficiency and avoid small and medium-sized prints printed on large-format offset presses before off-line slitting, Manroland and KBA have launched online on-line slitting devices. The on-line slitting device is generally installed on the impression cylinder of the last unit. The slitting device is composed of a slitting knife device and a protective steel belt on the impression cylinder. The slitted paper is sent out in two piles. Manroland's online online slitting device (Figure 13-1) has its own driving parts; KBA's online online slitting device (Figure 13-2), the pressure of the cutting knife against the impression cylinder is controlled by air pressure.

Considering the wear and benefit of the slitting device, online slitting is generally suitable for thin paper and small and medium-sized jobs. KBA believes that the gram weight of the slitted paper should be below 450g / m2, which is beneficial to reduce the wear of the slitting blade and steel belt. When printing large volumes and continuous printing, cutting with an offline paper cutter is more cost-effective.

2. Connect numbers, emboss and punch holes

In the printing of various bills, it is often necessary to punch numbers, emboss, punch, etc. In the case of sheet-fed offset presses, these jobs were previously performed separately on dedicated machines offline after printing. It can now be processed inline. The inline processing can be completed by a marking and embossing unit after the printing unit, or a simple numbering and embossing device can be installed on the printing unit (Figure 13-3).

â‘ Numbering: The numbering device consists of ink supply unit, numbering (code) box shaft, numbering device (numbering box), etc. (see Figure 13-3 a). The ink supply unit injects the numbering device, and the number on the numbering device prints the number on the paper at the impression cylinder. The numbering device can automatically carry digits, so the printed products can automatically print different serial numbers. According to the different requirements for printing longitudinal or horizontal numbers on the printed sheet, the direction in which the numbering device is installed on the axis of the coding box is different (see Figure 13-3 b).

â‘¡embossing: remove the numbering device and install the embossing block at its position to emboss the printed matter.

â‘¢ Punching and cutting: Figure 13-4 is the punching and cutting device configured on the sheet-fed offset press. To punch, cut, indent, and emboss in the longitudinal direction (printing and paper-feeding direction), install the corresponding tools (such as a punching knife) on a bracket (see Figure 13-4 a). The bracket is installed at the position to be processed and can be adjusted horizontally (see Figure 13-3 a). Figure 13-4 b is an example of a method for installing tools for punching, cutting, creasing, and embossing in the transverse direction (perpendicular to the paper feeding direction), and related processing tools are installed on the support shaft. Whether it is vertical or horizontal punching, cutting, indentation and embossing, it is all squeezed by related tools and impression cylinders. Therefore, the impression cylinder should have corresponding protection measures, such as installing protective foil on the impression cylinder is one of the protection measures (see Figure 13-5).

3. On-line die cutting and indentation

Previously, the die-cutting and creasing devices were only equipped with web offset presses. The on-line die cutting of the web offset press is generally equipped with a separate die cutting unit, which can be flat flat die cutting, or circular pressure round die cutting. In recent years, sheet-fed offset printing machines have also begun to be equipped with die cutting and creasing devices.

â‘  Die-cutting indentation with printing unit (as shown in Figure 13-5): Install a special metal plate on the rubber cylinder, and squeeze with the impression cylinder to complete the die-cutting, indentation and embossing of the printed matter. Since the relevant processing tools are directly made on the metal plate, the above-mentioned processing can be completed at once in either the longitudinal direction or the lateral direction.

â‘¡ Die-cutting indentation with glazing unit: In-line die-cutting, indentation, embossing, punching, etc. can have a separate unit, but currently use glazing unit to complete these functions. When converting the glazing unit into a die-cutting unit, you need to: clean the varnish system, separate or remove the varnish supply device; remove the glazing plate, apply the die-cutting plate; adjust the pressure of the die-cutting plate and the impression cylinder, During the adjustment, the paper to be die-cut is added to the impression cylinder and the thickness of the magnetic transparent substrate and the die-cut plate for positioning on the rubber cylinder are considered; to adjust the die-cut position, the registration system of the glazing unit can be used to adjust If you use yin and yang dies for die cutting, you must be very careful and adjust them carefully.

Whether it is punching, die cutting, indentation, embossing, it is necessary to take protective measures on the surface of the impression cylinder. It is necessary to use the liner (or sheath) for necessary protection. As shown in Figure 13-5, there is a protective foil on the impression cylinder.

â‘¢ Die-cutting waste removal device: If there is a part cut off during die-cutting, the problem of waste removal should also be solved, such as the use of suction and blowing conversion die-cutting rollers. During the die-cutting process, the die-cut paper and waste are sucked tightly on the die-cutting drum. When the die-cutting drum rotates through a certain angle to reach the specified position, the suction of the die-cutting drum is converted into a blower, which The waste is blown into an suction funnel.

4. In-line die cutting and indentation positioning

There is a positioning problem for in-line die cutting, indentation, embossing, punching, etc. Generally, a 1mm lattice magnetic transparent substrate is installed on the rubber roller, and its mig is used to help positioning.
