AIMCAL, the American Metals/Coating/Floating Industry Association, awarded this year's Peter Rigney Metallization Product Medal to Unifiil. Unifoil's coated high-end MX 1000 laser wireless mouse coated with California-based Logitech has been registered with the rainbow display carton. The carton is designed and packaged by Everett Graphics. It consists of two .012 SBS paperboards. The paperboard is overlaid onto a silicone-free polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film and printed on top with acrylic. Primer coating. Spectratek Technologies (ww.spectratek.net) supplies and metallizes the PET film.
A laminated paper is tucked onto a miniature corrugated cardboard to add additional support. Another piece of unprinted rainbow .012 SBS is inserted into the package, forming a wavy background behind the mouse, in the center of the spherical rainbow. The cladded material provides a flat surface for the reflective insert, highlighting the embossing of the outer box and creating a three-dimensional effect. Printing is done with UV inks.
