Eguistar Chemicals Inc. introduced an extrudable adhesive layer resin that enhances optical clarity in co-extruded films containing an EVOH core. The grade is Plexar PX 3410, designed to bond different materials, including commonly used multilayer co-extruded materials such as PE, PP, PA, EVA, EMA, and EVOH. Tests on commercial blown film production lines show that the transparency of coextruded films containing EVOH and Plexar PX 3410 increases. Barrier films with excellent optical properties and transparency are essential in today's retail packaging. The resin has passed the US FDA certification of adhesives and has also received limited direct contact with food.
