Honeywell Plastics of USA has developed Endurance, a new high-performance fiberglass-reinforced PET material. Petra 7300, which uses recycled resin as the base resin under the new resin grade Petra 7500, is graded as Petre 7300. It is fatigued while still maintaining an excellent appearance. The intensity has increased dramatically.
The results of recent laboratory tests showed that the fatigue strength of Petra 7500 is 1.7 million times at 56 MPa, which is two orders of magnitude higher than that of 30% glass-reinforced PET (26,000 times), and the recycled material reinforced grade Petra 7300 reaches 240,000 times. It is also much higher than general glass fiber reinforced PET. The new product uses a new special additive to ensure that it does not affect the surface properties of the product, but also has high melt stability and melt flowability, improving the molding processability. The end use is office furniture and is now available in natural, black and pre-stained grades.
